Stop service cuts at Canada Post

Instead of looking for ways to modernize operations, Canada Post and the Conservatives are taking an axe to long-treasured postal services – killing good jobs, eliminating home delivery, cutting rural post office hours and drastically increasing postage rates. 

6,000 to 8,000 workers will lose their jobs and five million households will lose home delivery over the next five years. Worse yet, no real consultation was done by Canada Post, effectively eliminating any opportunity for input from the people who will be most affected.

By cutting services, it is possible that Canada Post will drive away customers and raise the costs. Canada Post offers a public service that needs to be protected. 

I oppose the cuts to services recently announced by Canada Post

  • We need people working in this country too many lay offs. To keep this Country going jobs are very important with out that we will become a 3rd world country. Give our youth a reason to go and learn. Cut backs don’t work they just make the problem bigger.

    Canada Post has been using TAXIS and other poor service contractors in Fort McMurray for a while. Parcel Delivery consists of drop off at Shoppers drug and a card if they remember.
  • CPC and our government have lost their minds…why don’t they tell the truth how CPC is spending money on new machines, drop off boxes, new trucks, new plants and that they took a holiday from paying into our pension…they have spend millions if not billions on destroying Canada Post

  • Omg, is it not bad enough you you cut a lot of jobs last year and making the postal workers even have a longer routes because of this. The people of Canada deserve a postal service that we can depend on!! Stop the Bloody Cuts!!
